The department of Computer Engineering and Application offers the curriculum based on the University syllabus. At present the department has an intake capacity of 60 students. The Department of Computer Engineering and Application of Madhupur Polytechnic focuses on current and future demands and to provide its diploma engineers with necessary knowledge and skill that equip them for a successful career. The Department aims at offering the students the necessary tools to excel as professionals and at serving the society in general.

To be a dynamic and efficient department of Computer Engineering and Application providing quality education and progressive atmosphere to the students so that they can implement knowledge effectively to meet the needs of society.

Programme Educational Objectives:

 

  • Successful Career: Primary objective is to prepare students with concrete base in engineering, Science and Technology for a well balanced, bright career in Computer Engineering and Application.

  • Integration with the Society: To sensitize students with integrity towards issues of social relevance, openness to other international cultures and to introduce them to professional ethics and practice.

Programme Outcomes: The outcome of the Programme namely, Diploma in Computer Engineering and Application which form the component indicative of diploma engineer’s potential to acquire competence to practice at appropriate level, the diploma engineers in Computer Engineering and Application shall have:

  • Basic knowledge: An ability to apply knowledge of basic mathematics, science and engineering to solve the engineering problems.
  • Discipline knowledge: An ability to apply discipline – specific knowledge to solve core and/or applied engineering problems.
  • Experiments and practice: An ability to plan and perform experiments and practices and to use the results to solve engineering problems.
  • Engineering Tools: Apply appropriate technologies and tools with an understanding of the limitations.
  • The engineer and society: Demonstrate knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to engineering practice.
  • Environment and sustainability: Understand the impact of the engineering solutions in societal and environmental contexts, and demonstrate the knowledge and need for sustainable development.
  • Ethics: Apply ethical principles and commit to professional ethics and responsibilities and norms of the engineering practice.
  • Individual and team work: Function effectively as an individual, and as a member or leader in diverse/multidisciplinary teams.
